Press release: New Group Policy-Based Software Deployment Solution for Microsoft MOM
LAS VEGAS, NV -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 18, 2005 -- Special Operations Software, a global provider of Active Directory and Group Policy integrated server and desktop management software applications, today announced that it will add a Microsoft Operations Manager (MOM) extension to its Group Policy-based software deployment product. Special Operations Software's extension for MOM will directly connect MOM with its existing Group Policy-based Software Deployment product, Specops Deploy.
The Microsoft MOM extension for Specops Deploy will give customers a better overview, as well as more control and alarm options for their Software Deployment Group Policy/Policies. One of the key benefits that the new extension will provide for Special Operations Software customers is the ability to connect alarms to software deployments that fail and the opportunity to correct those failures before a support ticket is generated.
"IT managers need a simple but powerful solution for software deployment. They must be able to install that solution within just a couple of days. And they should not be required to purchase extra hardware to get it up and running," said Robert Lundh, CEO of Special Operations Software. "Specops Deploy with our new Specops Deploy MOM extension, and of course MOM, is that solution."
The Specops Deploy MOM extension will be showcased for the first time at Microsoft Management Summit 2005 in Las Vegas, April 18-22, 2005. The product is expected to be generally available in May/June.
