Overview
Features
Specops Gpupdate Professional is the extended version of our free Specops Gpupdate tool which makes your everyday life as a network administrator easier by integrating a number of powerful commands directly in the Active Directory Users and Computers (ADUC) console.
ADUC integration
Using the Active Directory Users and Computers console allows you to quickly select anything from a single computer object or security group to entire OUs or even the root of the domain to target every system in your Active Directory.
Easy to use Graphical User Interface
Specops Gpupdate Professional comes with the new and improved easy to use Graphical User Interface found in Specops GPUpdate. Commands are accessible through a main window and each individual command will show you the PowerShell code it runs when you execute it.
If you are familiar with other Specops products you will also recognize the Help section to the right of the interface, which displays detailed help about the available commands and settings.
Based on PowerShell
If you want to move beyond the graphical user interface you will enjoy the fact that Specops Gpupdate Professional is built on PowerShell and all the work is performed through PowerShell cmdlets. This allows you to unleash the full power of Specops Remote Admin in your own PowerShell scripts.
Examples are available on our PowerShell samples page.
Command pinning
If you find some commands more useful than others this product allows you to customize them with your own settings and pin them directly to the right-click menu in ADUC.
Pinned commands can be freely edited if you need to change anything or deleted if you don’t need them anymore. See Pinned Commands for more details.
Command scheduling
Specops Gpupdate Professional also includes a feature which lets you set up and customize any command to automatically run according to your desired schedule.
See Scheduling for more details.
Efficient command execution
Specops Gpupdate Professional is ready to tackle large selections of remote systems through an efficient multi-threading engine. To avoid nasty timeout delays the commands also supports pinging the target systems first to ensure that they are up and running.
Detailed feedback
The interface provides detailed feedback about the command execution on individual systems, including any errors encountered.
