Members of the PowerShell Community Encouraged to Participate

TORONTO--(Marketwire - February 15, 2008) - Special Operations Software, www.Specopssoft.com, a global leader of Group Policy and Windows PowerShell-based Systems Management and Security software, today announced its sponsorship of the Microsoft 2008 Winter Scripting Games. The Scripting Games, which run from February 15 - March 3, 2008, provide a chance to practice and test your scripting skills. The games are live events, with contestants submitting entries that are judged and scored. Contestants will be eligible to win prizes by simply entering and also based on their score.

This year's games offer six different competitions: VBScript (Beginners and Advanced), Windows PowerShell (Beginners and Advanced) and Perl (Beginners and Advanced).

As a sponsor Special Operations Software is giving away a 5000-seat license of the full licensed version of Specops Command as part of the 2008 Winter Scripting Games with a value of USD 90,000.*

A quote from the Scripting Games official program reads: "Specops Command is an incredible piece of software that you have to see to believe: it manages to fully incorporate Windows PowerShell and Group Policy, giving you a management system that lets you automate just about anything you could ever hope to automate."

The main feature of Specops Command is that it lets you distribute and execute PowerShell and PowerShell scripts to/on any number of desktops and servers, something that is not possible to do with PowerShell natively. Specops Command also makes PowerShell scripting even more powerful and easier to manage and is packed with additional functionality such as instant feedback, reporting, scheduling and support for VBScript.
